Public release

The families of the sahrawi political prisoners: Lmoussaoui Ahmed and Ahmada Daddi - Black jail in Laayoune, Western Sahara.

We the families of the Sahrawi political prisoners now detained in the black jail in Laayoune, announce to the whole public that our sons Ahmada daddi and Ahmed lmoussaoui are leading an open hunger strike from the 31st May 2006. As a result of the withdrawal of the prison authority of our acquisitions; its disrespect and refusal to implement the promises given by the director of the prison himself.
As a matter of fact, we found ourselves obliged to inform the public that we weren’t able neither to visit our sons nor know their health situation from 23/05/2006.

In this regard, we announce the following:
- We denounce our deprivation of our sons visit.

- We abjure the behaviour of the jail director who refuses to meet and listen to us. He not only does this but he asked the intervention of the police to disperse us and to prohibit us to visit our sons under threats.

- We announce that the responsibility of all what results from our son’s hunger strike falls on the authorities in the prisons direction and the Moroccan ministry of justice. And also their Health state and the circumstances of their detention.

- We appeal to all the free people and all the human rights organizations, the labor unions and the political bodies locally and internationally to back us up and to support our sons in their hard time.

Laaynune Western Sahara in 16/06/2006.
