AFAPREDESA, the Association of Relatives of Prisoners and Disappeared Saharauis and the UJS, Union of Saharauis Jurists, ask for your intervention in a VERY URGENT manner before the following situation in the Moroccan universities
Excessive abuse of violence, bad treatments,
humiliating treatments and levellings against sahrawi students in the Moroccan
universities.
Description of the situation:
AFAPREDESA and the UJS have received with deep concern information of the Sahrawi Committee saharauis for the Defense of the Human Rights in the occupied territories of the Western Sahara and the students in the Moroccan universities, on harassment, saharauis acts violence, levelling and threat of death on the part of the police Moroccan that act next to Moroccan students of extreme right, against the sahrawi students in the Moroccan universities in the cities of Agadir, Marrakech, Casablanca and Rabat.

Asked for action:
Please write to the Moroccan authorities of occupation with the purpose of
urging them:
- to take from immediate way the most appropriate measures to guarantee the security and the physical and psychological integrity of all the sahrawi students in the Moroccan universities;
- to carry out complete, exhaustive, independent and impartial an investigation, on the part of civil instances, around the facts above-mentioned, with the purpose of identifying the people in charge, taking them before competent, independent, right and impartial a court and to apply the sanctions to them penal, and/or administrative anticipated by the law;
- to take the measures from pertinent protection and prevention to protect the life of defenseless the civil populace saharaui in the territories occupied of the western Sahara and the south of Morocco before the policy of perpetrated repression of systematic form by the Moroccan forces of security;
- to give fulfillment immediate to the recommendations given by the international and regional organisms of human rights, including the Office of the High Commissioner for the Human rights, in its report of September of 2006 on the situation of human rights in the Western Sahara.
